Objective: To examine the ways in which online sites such as YouTube foster interactions and creativity among young people involved in graffiti art.
Design: Case study of an individual youth graffiti artist and YouTube artist. Content analysis of graffiti-related YouTube videos.
Subjects and Setting: Subject of case study was British graffiti artist and YouTube user, age 13 at time of study, known as Schofield.

Outcome Measure: Use of YouTube for creative and interactive artistic practices.
Results: Schofield discovered, learned, and gained motivation for new graffiti techniques from videos on YouTube. The setting of YouTube enabled Schofield to remain anonymous in his work but still experience of sense of belonging and receive guidance and advice from other artists. Comments on YouTube videos included praise, encouragement, and critique of the work displayed in the videos.
Conclusion: For young graffiti artists, online sites such as YouTube may foster interactions and creativity by providing examples of work, access to a larger community of artists, and supportive communications. © Center on Media and Child Healthreturn
